Source: Gas hub in Turkey not to see critical delays

ANKARA, Mar 29 (PRIME) -- The delays in fulfillment of a gas hub project in Turkey under Russia's proposal will not be critical, a source with knowledge of the negotiations told PRIME on Wednesday.

"Yes, delays are possible taking into account the consequences of the crushing earthquakes and the overemphasis of the agenda on this. But there is no critical situation, the negotiations did not stop, there is a constant exchange of opinions," the source said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the governments of both countries in 2022 to work on creation of a gas hub in Turkey swiftly and in detail. The hub could be used to transfer transit of gas from Russia's Nord Stream pipelines to the Black Sea region, and Erdogan thinks that Europe could receive Russian gas through Turkey.
